I have to admit, I LOOOVVEEE doing neurographics, especially using an ultra smooth panel and my water-based brush pens. They glide across the surface like buttah! This particular work was inspired by my husband. He took me shopping at an art supply warehouse for Valentine's Day, hence the pinks and reds.

Some people may see blood or veins or something biological in nature. And it sort of is; it comes from the concept of neuro-plasticity. For me, it is so much more. I am a complicated woman and it takes careful observation to see the multi-layered depths. I began the drawing with a very light peach and with each layer I deepened the values of my color palette.

I really do love doing these exercises. I love the process and the images. I love how I can focus on these drawings for hours. I am also very intrigued by the idea of the patronage of this type of work--- I mean you are witness to, and sharing the mind of the artist!

I love having these significant shared experiences. It reminds me that we are all the same. That soulful, intentional relationships are possible. And in that possibility, we are never alone.
